Why Would Your Faq Rank Higher Than Your Index Page in Google

Effective search reason on Google!!
Google has always tried to make the searches more effective for their users, so how can it be done? Here are some helpful hints from Google’s expert to give you a head start. Feel free to share it with your friends. This video shows what’s the best way to narrow your search to get the exact results you are looking for, without wasting your time going through hundreds of websites. Here are some examples:

If you would like to use a phase match you can use double quotes “Red Roses.” if you want roses but not Red you can search using a minus symbol in front e.g. – Red rose, then your search will give you all the results with all types of roses besides “RED”.

If you are searching for Red rose on a particular site. You will just have to type in, “Site: www.roses.com red rose” then the search result will only show the keywords you are looking for within the site.

Why would a site's FAQ page rank above its homepage?
Here is a helpful video from Google’s representative Matt Cutts explaining “Why would a site's FAQ page rank above its homepage”? Sometimes when you search for a company you wouldn’t get their main page as your number one search result. For example, you search for “abc123 Pty Ltd” and the result would be www.abc123/FAQ that shows on the top of the search. So why does that happen?

Well according to Matt, If your FAQ is ranked higher then your root page, this means your root page has not enough content compared to your FAQ page. Your FAQ page can also have more relevant keywords that the users are searching for and it might be that there are more people who are linked to the certain page to give you a higher ranking.
